Pea Onward Seeds
Info: Pea Onward is a high yielding variety that is well regarded with both home and commercial growers. The plants are robust and grow to a height of 60 to 70 cm, so they will need a small support. They bear plump, blunt ended pods which are produced in pairs and contain 6 to 8 large peas of a great flavour.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow when the soil is warm to the touch, which will be some time between the middle of March and the end of April. Sowing depth: 4-5 cm. Peas require a sunny position with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil, but not acidic. Use bamboo canes, pea sticks, trellis, netting or chicken wire as a climbing support for the plants. Once you feel the seeds in the pod, the peas are ripe for harvest. The more you harvest, the more they will produce. As the containing sugar decomposes very quickly, they taste sweetest immediately after harvesting.
