Pea Meteor Seeds
Info: Pea Meteor is a superb dwarf variety that is ideal for exposed plots and container growing due to its compact habit (45 cm). It is winter hardy, although it needs some protection against the worst of the winter weather. So it also can be sown in October/November to mature from late May. Commonly, it is sown in April outdoors.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow when the soil is warm to the touch, which will be some time between the middle of March and the end of April. Sowing depth: 4-5 cm. Peas require a sunny position with well-drained and nutrient-rich soil, but not acidic. Use bamboo canes, pea sticks, trellis, netting or chicken wire as a climbing support for the plants. Once you feel the seeds in the pod, the peas are ripe for harvest. The more you harvest, the more they will produce. As the containing sugar decomposes very quickly, they taste sweetest immediately after harvesting.
