Cauliflower Aalsmeer Seeds
Info: `Alsmeer` is an early vigorous variety with excellent curds that are well protected. It produces ceamy white heads of good depth and weight. Alsmeer is particularly cold tolerant - the sowing starts in April/May and the harvest occurs in the same period in the following year.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow Apr-May directly into a prepared seedbed. Sow 10mm deep into rows 20cm apart. Can be sown indoors Feb-Apr. Transplant to final growing position 5 weeks from sowing, 45 cm apart. Prefers a sunny position on a soil with plenty of well rotted organic matter, acidic soil should have lime added. Harvesting in April/May in the following year, when the heads are still tight and firm, cut in the morning. The curds may "yellow" if they receive too much sun, rain, or frost. Secure the plants` long leaves over the cauliflower heads to insure beautiful white heads.
