Cabbage January King Seeds
Info: Cabbage `January King` is a kind of mixture of white cabbage, red cabbage and savoy. The outer leaves have a light blistering like a Savoy with a light green to turquoise colour and the inner small head has red tinge green, violet-coated leaves. They are well adapted, withstanding frost and winter rain and remain crisp and crunchy with excellent colour and taste. This allows the plants to be left in the bed and the harvest period extends from autumn to spring.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow outdoors successiionally from April to July for a harvest from October to March. Sowing depth: 12mm and space 15 to 20cm between rows. Cabbage seedlings are ready for transplanting when they are between 6 and 8cm high, around 30 to 45cm apart. Cabbage grows best in partial-shade, in firm, fertile, free-draining soil which should be slightly calcareous. Water regularly, especially in dry periods. Harvest from June to August (through to October).
