Kohl Rabi Purple Vienna Seeds
Info: Kohl Rabi `Purple Vienna` is a heirloom with a purple skin and white, tender flesh. The taste is delicious and slightly nutty and it can be used well for frying, cooking or fresh in salads. Purple Vienna matures quickly, progressing from sowing to harvesting in a few months. It is particularly well suited for late sowing at the end of August and winter harvesting until December.
Sowing & cutivation: Sow outdoors between March to the end of June. For a late autumn or winter crop sow in August. Sowing depth: 1 cm, in rows 30cm apart. Kohl Rabi likes partial-shade, in firm, fertile, free-draining soil. Kohl Rabi grows best during cool weather and matures quickly, progressing from sowing to harvesting in a couple of months. They are not quite hardy enough to be classified as a winter vegetable, but they do withstand frost if there is snow or a cover.
