Carrot Eskimo Seeds

Info: The Eskimo carrot is a wonderful late variety that is excellent for a late harvest from October and long storage. Due to its high frost tolerance, it can remain in the bed throughout the winter until February and can thus be harvested fresh again and again - with full quality. The carrots develop 15-18 cm long roots with a beautiful regular shape and bright orange and juicy delicious flesh. The Eskimo carrot is popular in soups, salads and main dishes because of its good taste.

Sowing & cultivation: Sow from Febuary under cloches or fleece. Can be sown outdoors as late as August. Sow them as thinly as possible, this reduces the amount of thinning necessary. Mix the seeds with a handful of sharp sand and sow the seeds and sand together. Plants should be kept well watered and carrots prefer a sandy, well-drained soil. Too much nitrogen will cause the carrots to grow hairy little roots all up and down the carrot.
