Carrot Parisian Market Seeds
Info: Carrots are incredibly versatile and many varieties, including unusual shaped and coloured carrots are rarely found in the shops. This short rooted variety can be easily grown at home in containers, pots and even window boxes. Carrot `parisian Market` is a French heirloom that produces smooth, round, bite-size roots with a deep-crisp refreshing taste. It is is ideal for growing shallow soils and is easily grown in containers or grow bags, it is also useful for heavy clay or shallow soils where other carrots fail.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow from Febuary under cloches or fleece. Can be sown outdoors as late as August. Sow them as thinly as possible, this reduces the amount of thinning necessary. Mix the seeds with a handful of sharp sand and sow the seeds and sand together. Plants should be kept well watered and carrots prefer a sandy, well-drained soil. Too much nitrogen will cause the carrots to grow hairy little roots all up and down the carrot.
