Beetroot Chioggia Barbabietola Seeds
Info: Chioggia Barbabietola is a well-known since 1841, Italian traditional variety, named after the city of Chioggia in Veneto. With its unusual white-red striped coloring, it is a real visual highlight. Ideal for garnishing colorless dishes. Due to its mild, slightly sweet taste, it is ideally suited for raw consumption. Their high content of calcium, iron and beta-carotene makes them a very healthy vegetable in the kitchen.
Sowing & cultivation: Sowing can be done outdoors from April. Sowing depth should be about 2-3cm. A row spacing of 30 x 10cm and a planting distance of 10cm required. Beetroot is a very undemanding vegetable and makes little demands on the ground. A humus rich, nutrient-rich, slightly permeable soil is optimal. The soil must have a constant moisture during the entire growth phase.
