Rutabaga Veitches Red Globe Seeds
Info: Veitches Red Globe is a traditional rutabaga that has been grown for more than 150 years. It forms uniform, spherical beets with a dark red skin and white flesh. The beets can be consumed as raw food. But cooked or stewed, they are a great vegetable accompaniment to meat and fish dishes. The beetroot herb can be prepared in a similar way to spinach or, as a stalk, provides the perfect basis for soups and stews.
Sowing & cultivation: Because the rutabaga is quite unpretentious, clayey, sandy, humus soils are excellent. They can be sown on the spot in April. The distance between rows should be 20 cm, the distance between plants should be 10-15 cm. A shelf depth of 3cm should be observed. Before sowing, mix some compost. As dryness increases the risk of falling, it should be regularly poured in dry times.
