Aubergine Long Purple Seeds
Info: The Aubergine Long Purple produces many long, lean and dark purple fruits with green calyces. It is a very rich and aromatic variety, which grows well in the greenhouse or even in warm places in the open air.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow January to April for growing under glass or from May on outdoors. Sow 5mm (¼ in) deep, but do not exclude light as this helps germination. Acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions for 10 to 15 days. Plant out into sheltered site when all risk of frost has passed with a distance of 50 to 60 cm. They need a sunny and sheltered place and you should stake as you would for tomatoes. Hand pollination will improve the set of the first blossoms. Remove the main tip/growing point when plants are 30cm (12in) high. Feed every 14 days with high potash (tomato or chili) fertiliser once the first fruits have set.
