Lettuce Freckles Seeds
Info: `Freckles` is a beautiful Romaine lettuce variety with attractive spotted leaves that is also attractive for planting in flower borders. It grows upright with an early colouring and crisp texture that make this an excellent choice for both baby leaf and full-sized heads. It is heat tolerant and holds well without bolting.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow outdoors from mid March to mid September. Seed depth 6 - 12 mm in short rows about 20 - 30 cm apart. When the seedlings are about 2cm tall, thin them out. A rich soil is excellent for lettuce, but the crop will also do well in average garden soil. Fertilize the soil with compost or horn meal before sowing. Watering is essential, the plants need almost constantly moist ground as dry soil will cause the plants to put their energy into producing flowers.
