Dandelion Seeds
Info: In fact, everyone knows it: the dandelion, which in spring is one of the first plants with its bright yellow flowers to form entire carpets and later forms the beautiful spherical seed heads whose flying parachutes can be simply blown away. What few know is that the dandelion can be used in many ways: in spring you pick the young, slightly bitter tasting leaves for salads. With a bacon cream sauce dandelion salad is considered a delicacy. In France, together with orange, lemon and sugar a honey-like jelly is made from the flowers and used as a spread. The root can also be used raw or cooked. As a medicinal herb dandelion stimulates the appetite, relieves indigestion, especially after high-fat meals and is part of blood purification tea.
Sowing & Cultivation: Dandelion is extremely adaptable and undemanding. But it prefers a well-drained soil and thrives best in full sun. Sow outdoors from March 5 - 8 mm deep in rows with 25 cm distance, after two months separate to a distance of 15 cm. Water regularly, do not fertilize.
