Oakleaf Bowl Seeds
Info: `Bowl` is a highly ornamental Oakleaf variety which produces large uniform heads for summer and autumn use. The thick leaves have good flavour and texture and the compact plants will grow easily in a pot as well as in the garden. This variety tolerates heat very well, but also excels in cooler climates.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow outdoors successively between March to August. Seed depth 6 - 12 mm in short rows about 20 - 30 cm apart. When the seedlings are about 2cm tall, thin them out. A rich soil is excellent for oakleaf, but the crop will also do well in average garden soil. Fertilize the soil with compost or horn meal before sowing. Watering is essential, the plants need almost constantly moist ground as dry soil will cause the plants to put their energy into producing flowers.
