Lettuce Lollo Bionda Seeds
Info: Lollo Bionda and Lollo Rosso lettuce have nice loose heads and very curly leaves. They are originally from Italy, where the variety Bionda has light green leaves and the variety Rosso is reddish-brown. Both have tender leaves and a neutral, fine salad taste. Lollo Bionda forms large size heads with an excellent flavour. It is suitable for cropping over a long period.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow outdoors successively between March to August. Seed depth 6 - 12 mm in short rows about 20 - 30 cm apart. When the seedlings are about 2cm tall, thin them out. A rich soil is excellent for oakleaf, but the crop will also do well in average garden soil. Fertilize the soil with compost or horn meal before sowing. Watering is essential, the plants need almost constantly moist ground as dry soil will cause the plants to put their energy into producing flowers.
