Chopsuey Green Shungiku Seeds
Info: Chopsuey Green Shungiku is a fast-growing annual spice and ornamental chrysanthemum plant from Asia whose leaves, flowers and buds are edible. They have an intense spicy taste with notes of carrot, parsley and celery. In East Asia, Chop suey Green is used fresh in salads and as a condiment in typical cooked and and wok dishes for its roasted flavour. Its flower buds are used in China for tea. Adult plant reaches 80 cm in height and is also a beautiful ornamental plant in the garden with white or yellow flowers.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow from April directly into the field. Sowing depth approx. 1 cm. Can also be cultivated well as a container plant. Chop Suey Green is cold-resistant down to -4°C, likes half-shady to sunny spots, and a rich, well drained, not too dry soil. Water regularly. The young leaves can be harvested from June, from a cutting height of 25 cm.
