Goji Berry Seeds
Info: Goji Berry is also called wolfberry or boxthorn and originates from China. It is a deciduous woody perennial plant, growing 2-3 m high with pretty violet flowers. It bears lots of the sweet, red goji berries that can be used fresh or dried and they taste similar to raisins. Since several years, the berries have been called super-foods, since they are just so full of vitamins and antioxidants. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), goji berries are used as a mild aphrodisiac, as well as to strengthen muscles and bones, liver function, and stimulation of life energy as they increase the number of white blood cells.
Sowing & Cultivation: Preculture from February or sowing directly into outdoors after the last frost. Sowing depth: 2 cm. When sowing or planting outdoors, please note that the Goji Berry shrub can reach a height of 2 to 3 meters, so give a minimum of 1-2 meters of space in the garden. In the first years the plant has a very high nutrient requirement, a lack is shown by yellow leaves. Therefore fertilize regularly. It may take 3 to 5 years for the plant to bear fruit for the first time. The shrub forms very strong rhizome streaks, which can only be kept in a bridle with a rhizome barrier.
