Info: Chives is probably one of the most popular kitchen classics and must not be missing in any herb garden. The tasty and healthy herbs contain a lot of vitamin C and phosphorus. The fine tubes are mainly used to refine soups, sauces, quark dishes or salads. But even a simple sandwich becomes a real treat by adding a few of these small tubes. In addition to its versatile uses, chives also have healing effects. It has a digestive effect, appetizing and expectorant for cough. Even a high blood pressure can be noticeably lowered.

Sowing & cultivation: The sowing can be done from March directly into the field. Seeds can be sown in row seed or horsts. Since chives are a dark germ, the seeds should be covered with 2cm soil. Furthermore, chives are also a cold germ, which is why the outside temperatures should be at a maximum of 5-10 ° C. A half-shady location with loose, humus soil is recommended. The young plants should be kept evenly moist, but protected from heavy rain.
