Leek Tadorna Seeds
Info: `Tadorna` is a medium length leek with a very upright habit and extremely hardy. It produces white shanks and contrasting, very dark blue-green foliage. It holds in the field for fall into winter harvest, and overwinters in moderate climates, it can be harvested from December to March. It has a great disease resistance, especially to leaf blights.
Sowing & cultivation: Sow January to February under glass or March and April outdoors. Sow the seed thinly, 1.5cm deep in drills 30 cm apart in soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Water ground regularly, especially during dry periods. Transplant when plants are large enough to handle to 25 - 30 cm apart. During the growth, continue to earth up so that as much of the leek as possible stays white. When the leek has reached a diameter of 3 cm it is ready to harvest.
