Info: Italian Flat Borettana is a traditional Italian onion from the Emilia-Romagna region. This delicious specialty owes its name to the small town of Boretto. This onion became famous as an appetizer in balsamic vinegar. The small, flat onions reach a diameter of up to 4 cm and are characterized by an extremely mild and sweet taste. They are ideal for cooking or as raw food in salads.
Sowing & cultivation: Sowing can take place from April to June. The seeds are covered with soil in a plant depth of 0,5 cm, well pressed and kept moist. After germination the seedlings can be separated. The planting distance should be 10-25cm. Sow on a loose, strong soil which is not pre-fertilized.
