Pumpkin Atlantic Giant Seeds
Info: A real giant: The giant pumpkin `Atlantic Giant` really reaches enormous proportions. The European record for this variety is 650 kg! Its average weight still reaches fabulous 50 to 100 kg. Unlike other pumpkins `Atlantic Giant` is not sensitive to cold. It has a tasty pulp that is suitable for soups, chutneys and jams or as grilled vegetable. The hard shell is ideal for carving for beautiful Halloween lanterns.
Sowing & cultivation: Pumpkin plants need a lot of space as creeping plants and a good nutrient supply. The soil should therefore be profound and nutritious. From mid-May can be sown directly into the open field. Depending on the variety a plant needs up to 2m² of space. Abundant irrigation is very important, especially in the beginning. A typical pumpkin problem are snails. Try as protection a thick ring of sawdust around the young plant. It should be fertilized with a few horns, four weeks later with full fertilizer. The harvest begins in September and lasts until the frost.
