Pumpkin Jack O`Lantern Seeds
Info: `Jack O`Lantern` pumpkins are a classic fall crop essential and the traditional pumpkin to be used for carving for Halloween festivities. It has flattened ribbed small round medium orange fruits, the skin is golden orange and the flesh is fine flavoured and deep orange. It is a versatile fruit in that it can be roasted, baked, or made into a variety of dishes such as soup or pie.
Sowing & cultivation: Pumpkin plants need a lot of space as creeping plants and a good nutrient supply. The soil should therefore be profound and nutritious. From mid-May can be sown directly into the open field. Depending on the variety a plant needs up to 2m² of space. Abundant irrigation is very important, especially in the beginning. A typical pumpkin problem are snails. Try as protection a thick ring of sawdust around the young plant. It should be fertilized with a few horns, four weeks later with full fertilizer. The harvest begins in September and lasts until the frost.
