Pumpkin Small Sugar Seeds

Info: `Small Sugar` is a Halloween-type pumpkin and the long time favorite and standard for pies as none grows any sweeter. The fruits are small, ribbed, about 25 cm in diameter and of 1 to 2 kg weight. The colour is deep orange yellow, while the flesh is thick and very sweet. It is a good keeper.

Sowing & cultivation: Pumpkin plants need a lot of space as creeping plants and a good nutrient supply. The soil should therefore be profound and nutritious. From mid-May can be sown directly into the open field. Depending on the variety a plant needs up to 2m² of space. Abundant irrigation is very important, especially in the beginning. A typical pumpkin problem are snails. Try as protection a thick ring of sawdust around the young plant. It should be fertilized with a few horns, four weeks later with full fertilizer. The harvest begins in September and lasts until the frost.
