Pumpkin Uchiki Kuri Seeds
Info: `Uchiki Kuri` is a new Japanese breeding and a very good Hokkaido variety. It produces bright orange pear shaped fruits that have an excellent very sweet and nutty flavour. The pumkins have a weight of 1,5 kg and are suitable for soups, vegetable dishes and pumpkin pie. `Uchiki Kuri` is an early variety, very productive and stores well.
Sowing & cultivation: Pumpkin plants need a lot of space as creeping plants and a good nutrient supply. The soil should therefore be profound and nutritious. From mid-May can be sown directly into the open field. Depending on the variety a plant needs up to 2m² of space. Abundant irrigation is very important, especially in the beginning. A typical pumpkin problem are snails. Try as protection a thick ring of sawdust around the young plant. It should be fertilized with a few horns, four weeks later with full fertilizer. The harvest begins in September and lasts until the frost.
