Leaf Beet Erbette Seeds
Info: If you like spinach and you like chard, you should grow Erbette, a cross between the two. Erbette looks like swiss chard, but has narrower leaves and midribs. It is highly recommended if you long for spinach in the summer. Erbette is extremely resistant to bolting, it is sweeter and more tender that other Swiss chard varieties and is one of the easiest and most productive vegetables for a small space. Eat the young leaves in salads and save the larger leaves for steaming, stir-frying, or chopping and sautéing.
Sowing & cultivation: Leaf chard is a prolific grower with a long cropping season, it tolerates partial shade, poor soil and inattention. Sow outdoors from May after the last frosts have occurred about 3 cm deep and about 30 cm apart. The harvest starts from June by cutting off the outer stems without hurting the heart.
