Ground Nutmeg
Nutmeg is a spice with a bittersweet spiciness and is an important ingredient in numerous classic recipes. Plenty of soups, stews, dumplings, veal and fricassees are seasoned with nutmeg. Turn simple side dishes such as mashed potato, sprouts, cauliflower, pumpkin and spinach into spiced up delicacies just by adding nutmeg.
However, sweet treats such as lebkuchen, apple tarts, pancakes and doughnuts can also be given a more sophisticated flavour with a little nutmeg, whilst it also adds that certain "je ne sais quoi" to tomato juice, hot punch and mulled wine.
Edora guarantees that only whole and intact nuts (SUNS = sounds unsorted) are ground and that no "broken, wormy or punky" nuts are used (so-called BWP produce). Furthermore, Edora also subject the nuts to extensive aflatoxin analysis.
Caution: Many other vendors no longer offer pure nutmeg; you should always read the lift of ingredients carefully. Name affixes such as "seasoning" or "flavour preparation" and indications that the spice in question is not completely pure. You can find analyses at www.premiumgewuerze.de under "Consumer Information"
Caution: Nutmeg should be kept safely out of small children.
Consumption of more than 1 nut (approx. 5g) can induce moderate intoxication with headaches, nausea and dizziness.
However, consumed in normal doses, nutmeg is completely harmless.
