Vanilla from Papua New Guinea
Vanilla from Papua New Guinea (Vanilla Tahitensis), 2 pcs.
This vanilla variety has a similar aroma spectrum as the Tahitian vanilla, as both are the botanical variety Vanilla Tahitensis.
Vanilla Tahitensis is also fondly referred to as the "Queen of Spices". You can scrape out the seeds it contains and the liquid surrounding it, called "vanilla pulp," and grind the pod or cook it whole.
To flavor sugar, it is sufficient to store a vanilla pod together with the sugar in an airtight container for a few weeks.
Real vanilla is indispensable in making desserts, pastries and ice cream. However, it also harmonizes with fish, seafood and white meat.
Info: Vanillin is only one of the few flavors of vanilla. This one is chemically related to human pheromones. But whether this is already proof of the aphrodisiac effect attributed to vanilla? In any case, vanilla is an indispensable spice for many desserts with wonderful flavors that cannot be replaced by artificial vanillin powder.
Shelf Life / Storage
Spices lose some of their flavour through incorrect storage. Spices should be stored in a cool, dry, dark and airtight place.Manufacturer
