When there are no fresh chillies at hand: Chilli paste for quickly seasoning dishes.
Ancho chillies are red ripened and dried Poblano chillies, one of the most popular chillies in Mexico. It`s a relatively mild variety (1,000 to 2,000 Scoville), and its color ranges from a dark brick red to mahogany. Anchos are very aromatic and sweet with a fruity aroma and notes of prunes, coffee, tobacco, liquorice and raisins. The anchos are mainly used in sauces. They give the dishes a plum and raisin note, indispensable for an authentic Mexican taste experience. The aroma also goes well with pork or chili con carne.

Als Zutat super
Man soll nicht denken 3 hieße mild. NeeNee, je nach Toleranz, merkt man schon deutlich die Chiliherkunft. Leicht bitter, mit Noten von Trockenfrüchten (ohne Witz). Sehr herzhafter Geschmack für mich typisch getr. Chili. Ich werde es als Zutat für echtes CcC benutzen. Im mix mit Mulatto, Poblanoringe, Chipotles & Jalapeños.

Für Ancho schon würzig
Für meinen Geschmack nix für pur auf Brot oder so.
Deutlich bitter und auch nicht gerade mild dafür das daß Ancho sind.
Aber in Saucen nit einem Tropfen Agaven-Dicksaft sehr lecker. Auch um mal den Anchogeschmack zu schmecken empfehle ich einen Tropfen ADS unter zu mischen.
