Mexican Oregano
Our Oregano comes from Mexico and has received a lot of sunshine. Thus, it is much more flavourful than the one grown in Europe.
Oregano is generaly known as Pizza spice, but it can be used even more versatile. It is indispensable for tasty tomato sauces, but also for salad dressings, marinades, chili con carne or mediterranean fish recipes.
What few people know is that the oregano has only been used as a spice for around 200 years. Before that, he was mainly known as a cure. Already the ancient Greeks made use of its healing powers against complaints of the digestive tract, cough and inflammation. By now, it is considered a natural antibiotic due to its high content of phenols.
