Por Kwan Tamarind Paste is a fine cooking ingredient for Indian, Thai and Indonesian dishes.

Tamarind translates as "Indian date" and the pulp of the brown pods is added in African and Asian cuisine to give dishes a fruity, sharp tartness. Tamarind goes very well with the spiciness of chillies and gives many South Indian dishes their characteristic hot and sour taste and also their dark colour.
